Math
We had our Unit 8 test today. On Monday the students will correct any questions they missed. Tuesday we will be Unit 9. Unit 9 revisits the topics the students have learned about this year.

Writing
This week the student learned how to take notes from a non-fiction text. They practiced rewording information and writing direct quotes. It has been exciting watching the students find non-fiction topic they are interested in.

Next week we will learn how to incorporate non-fiction facts into our writing. The students will pick a non-fiction topic which interests them to research then write about.

Social Studies
We are continuing our unit on economics. The students learned how scarcity can effect decisions for themselves and for adults. The students were also exposed to the opportunity cost when making decisions. The expose to these economic concepts has lead to very interesting class discussion.

BACKWARDS DAY IS COMING TO PRAIRIE BRANCH!

For meeting the goal for the canned food drive, our school earned a Backwards Day. The Backwards Day was an idea from our student council kids, and has been approved by Mr. Pinney. Backwards Day will be on MARCH 7, 2013. The goal would be to do our day backwards, in addition to wearing clothes backwards (if you so choose ;-)

Have a wonderful weekend,
