Field Trip
Our field trip is this Friday! Please send your students with a completely disposable lunch. If the weather is nice we will be eating at the Grain Valley Park. Also if you could have your students wear a Prairie Branch t-shirt or a red, white or blue t-shirt.
MAP Testing Notes
Please make sure your letters of encouragement for your child are turned in by Friday. This notes will be given to the students before their MAP test begins. The students love opening the letters of encouragement!
Reading
We have continued practicing for our upcoming MAP test. Students have been given MAP practice tests in the same setting they will be taking the actual MAP test. Our first MAP test will be Tuesday April 23rd. We will test Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning also.

Math
The students learned how to multiply using lattice. Along with our Unit 9 lessons, the students have also been practicing for the math MAP test. Just like in reading, the students have taken practice math MAP tests to expose them to MAP like testing. There will be no homework during the two weeks of MAP testing.
Writing
The students did a great job of working with the challenging MAP vocabulary. The students were given a list of common testing terms like "prompt" and "written form." Then they guessed their meaning. After learning the correcting meaning of each word the students wrote their own test questions.

Charging Meals at Lunch
Beginning May 1st, we will no longer be able to “charge” meals, milk and/or juice. Everyone must have enough in his/her accounts to make purchases for that day. An alternative lunch will be offered for those that do not have funds in his/her account.
Have a great week,
Mrs. Ray
