Book Reports
All the students have been working extremely hard on their book reports. We will work on completing our final copies this week during writing. Our goal is to start presenting our reports to our classmates starting Thursday and have everyone finished by Monday. The students have completed most of the work in class, but they may need small supplies from home or extra time to work on this weekend.
Math
Today we will be reviewing for the Unit 2 math test. If you study tonight with your students please sign their study guide and I will give them an extra behavioral hole punch in the morning.
Reading
We have began practicing asking questions while we read. The students will be working with asking questions before, during and after reading. This is a great skill to practice at home with your students as you or they read aloud.
Social Studies
The students have build off their knowledge of local, state and national government and are now learning about the three branches of the national government. This week the students will be creating summaries of each levels responsibilities and creating a visual organizer.
Science
How does mass effect force? What is force? What is mass? These are just a few scientific questions your student has been working toward answering. We have done several experiments involving mass and force. The students are continuing to learn other elements which can effect force and mass.
Writing
Along with completing the final copies of their book reports students are learning about fluency in writing. Students will study poetry and listen to the rhythm and flow of fluent pieces of writing. They will practice creating sentences which fluency, as well as address fluency in their stories.
Have a great week,
Mrs. Ray
